Lavender Varieties

We farm two main varieties of Lavender, namely, Lavandula Angustifolia and Lavandula x Intermedia.

Lavandula Angustifolia

These varieties are best used for aromatherapy or culinary uses.

These varieties produce essential oil known as Lavender Oil.

Lavender Oil is known to be relaxing and calming.

Other terms for these varieties include:

  • Bee
  • Egerton Blue
  • Avice Hill
  • Maillette
  • Pacific Blue

Lavandula x Intermedia

These varieties produce essential oil known as Lavandin Oil.

Lavandin Oil is widely used in soaps, craft products, and pot pourri.

Lavandin Oil is also known to be more stimulating, rather than relaxing.

  • Seal
  • Grosso
  • Miss Donnington
  • Impress Purple
  • Alba (white flower)
  • Super

Emu Bay Lavender Season operates between mid September & mid May
10am - 4.30pm , Wednesday - Sunday

OPEN DAILY during SA school holidays excluding July

Closed Christmas Eve - Christmas Day, Boxing Day and Good Friday.

Group and coach tours by appointment - 10am to 4.30pm
